Why silk, really
Your hair tie is the last thing you touch at night and the first thing that damages your hair. Cotton and standard elastics catch on the cuticle — that's the snag, the frizz, the kink you have to redo in the morning.
Silk has almost no friction. It holds without gripping. Which is why this is the only hair tie you can sleep in.
What you're actually getting
- 6A grade mulberry silk — the highest grade there is. Longest, purest fibres.
- Not satin. Satin is polyester with a shine. This is the real fibre.
- Wide 3.5 cm band — spreads the tension so there's no dent.

From curious to confident
Mulberry silk is a smooth protein fibre — the same family of protein your skin and hair are made of. That means three things.
It has almost no friction. Cotton grips your skin and hair for eight hours a night, which causes sleep creases, frizz and breakage. Silk lets them glide.
It doesn't absorb moisture the way cotton does. Cotton drinks your skincare and your skin's natural moisture; silk leaves them where they belong.
And it regulates temperature naturally — breathable in summer, warm in winter, never clammy like polyester satin.
Not all silk is equal, though. Ours is *6A grade* (the highest, meaning the longest and purest fibres) at *22 momme* (a dense, substantial weight). Most brands don't publish either number.
Silk is more durable than people think — it just doesn't like heat or harsh chemicals.
- Hand wash in *cold water* with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent, or machine wash cold on delicate inside a mesh bag
- *Air dry* away from direct sunlight and radiators
- *No bleach, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, no wringing*
- If you iron, use the lowest setting on the reverse side
Wash every 1–2 weeks with normal use. Cared for properly, real silk lasts years.
